Hello everyone!
As you’ve likely seen in our Facebook group, we’re making significant strides in expanding our Acton Childrens’ Business Fair location. This move towards a bigger and more sustainable venue is a testament to our childrens’ dedication and hard work.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship from the Goddard Chamber of Commerce, we are able to use a larger venue at no cost for our next two fairs. This significant support means we’ll have more resources for advertising, t-shirts, swag bags, prize money, and vendor training opportunities. The larger venue also opens up more opportunities for children to participate, making our fair even more inclusive and impactful.
The Goddard Chamber of Commerce has proposed a work day that promises to be a valuable learning experience for our young entrepreneurs. On this day, our kids will learn interview skills, create an elevator pitch for their businesses, and film short commercials for marketing. Endeavor Financial Coaching, LLC has also agreed to attend this workday, offering to teach money management and budgeting skills to our junior entrepreneurs. This is a unique chance for our participants to gain practical business skills and enhance their entrepreneurial journey.
With these new opportunities, it is clear that we should take the steps to create our own 501(c)3 now to prepare us for even more expansion in the future. To begin this process, I am looking for volunteers to serve on a new board while I continue as Director and Organizer. Once we have volunteers for the board, we can set budgets for filing our non-profit status and begin formally structuring our organization as a non-profit. If you are interested in serving on the board (positions below) or contributing to start-up costs, please email me at leah@societyofchildentrepreneurs.org to discuss the opportunities.
Leah Ellis
